DUY Under 14’s warming up…
U14 against DUNGOYNE. Result 4-2 to DUY. M.O.M. Kevin Curran.
First half started well with DUY passing the ball around nicely, after 10 mins the ball was crossed into the Dungoyne box and after a scramble between players Jason Cluff popped up with an overhead kick that looped over the keepers head and in 1-0. DUY pressed hard with chances coming from Matty Montgomery and Kevin Curran. After 23 mins DUY gave away a free kick out wide, the kick was put into the box resulting in the DUY defence standing still and letting a Dungoyne player having a free header to make the score 1-1, this was how the first half finished. The second half started poor for DUY conceding an early goal with a mix up between keeper and defence giving a Dungoyne player a tap in to make the score 1-2. This spurred the DUY team into life resulting in some brilliant one touch passing between Kyle Procter and Chris Morris who in turn played a great through ball into Jason Cluff who rounded the keeper and coolly side footed the ball into the net 2-2. DUY had now got their tales up and were passing the ball well putting plenty of pressure on the away teams defence, the pressure payed of with stand in keeper Sean Keenan kicking a long ball straight into the path of M.O.M. Kevin Curran who duly rounded the keeper to slot home number 3. Then came a low part of the game when one of the Dungoyne players collided with his keeper resulting in an ambulance being called(Thankfully after getting checked out in hospital there was no serious damage done, we wish the wee lad well.). With just 6 mins remaining DUY continued to pass the ball around resulting in a free kick being awarded right on the 18yard line, with some quick thinking from Jarlath O’Rouke he struck the ball into the net with ease the game finishing 4-2 to DUY.
